| Protection in Extreme Environmental Conditions. |
|
KEVLAR® is a soft, flexible sleeving used to bundle and/or protect wires, hoses and cable harnesses from extreme environmental conditions. Flexo KEVLAR is braided from aramid fibres and has a unique combination of durability, pliability and high-tensile strength. KEVLAR has excellent thermal stability permitting long-term use at temperatures up to 320° F (160° C) without significant strength loss. It does not melt or support combustion. Short-term exposures (several minutes) as high as 572° F (300° C) can be tolerated. Kevlar sleeving offers strength and durability yet is relatively light in weight. It is commonly used in the fibre-optic and electro-mechanical cable industries.
